Canna Balm is our more balmy version of Canna Salve. It contains more wax and butters, so is better to use for lips and to keep in your bag or pocket (it's small).

What is Canna Salve? How does it work?

The skin is the largest organ in the body. Our skin protects us, and by doing so absorbs the toxins, bacteria and chemicals that we are exposed to us on a daily basis. Additionally our skin is the first point of contact and the first to take damage from the elements, sun exposure, UV, etc. Our skin also plays an important role in detoxification as well as absorbing vitamin D from the sun. It is very important to be aware of what we put our skin in contact with, and to keep it as healthy as possible.

We have alchemised our Canna Salve with the intention to be an all-purpose natural healing cream. From simply using it as a daily moisturiser, or for treating chronic eczema or arthritis, we believe we have created a magical healing topical for anyone to use (including children and animals).

Canna Salve works by directly interacting and activating our endocannabinoid system (ECS) in our skin, specifically cannabinoids receptors called CB1 & CB2. Cannabinoids are complex chemical compounds that mimic naturally occurring compounds produced by our bodies, called endocannabinoids. Cannabinoid receptors are not only present in the skin, but in our nervous system, organs, gut, tissues and brain. The ECS’ role in our skin is to constantly control the activity of the skin’s immune and inflammatory system.

The cannabinoids in our Canna Salve help to boost the function of the ECS, especially in our skin and tissues, therefore helping to manage inflammation, pain, disease and contribute to their overall healthy physiological function.

Cannabinoids such as CBD & THC also have powerful anti-oxidant properties, further protecting the cells in your body against free radical damage.

Will using Canna Salve make me ‘high’?

No.  Getting ‘high’ is the result of one of the key cannabinoids, THC, entering your bloodstream and penetrating the blood-brain barrier, binding to the receptors in your brain and producing feelings of being ‘high’.
The cannabinoids in Canna Salve are absorbed through the skin before reaching your bloodstream, therefore you can apply them liberally without any psychoactivity.

What is different about the Extra Strength version?

Our Extra Strength version contains 60-80% more cannabinoids in it. As well as an ingredient called DMSO, which allows the cannabinoids to reach deeper into the skin and tissues. This results in stronger therapeutic healing effects, often used for chronic conditions (such as arthritis, eczema, severe pain, etc).
